Afshin Safavi, PhD

Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Afshin Safavi is a biotech entrepreneur, scientist, and investor with decades of leadership experience across biotechnology, pharmaceutical, diagnostics, and life sciences. He has founded and scaled multiple successful ventures, including BioAgilytix Labs, a globally recognized contract research organization.

Dr. Safavi holds a PhD in Biochemistry and has held senior leadership roles across startups and multinational organizations, bringing strategic vision, operational excellence, and scientific depth to Hatchless.

Babak Kia

Innovation Lead

Babak Kia is a deep-tech innovator and systems thinker with expertise spanning artificial intelligence, engineering, and emerging technologies. He is known for bridging academic research with practical commercialization and mentoring early-stage ventures.

At Hatchless, Babak drives innovation strategy, platform architecture, and cross-disciplinary technology development.

Atousa B. Safavi, MS, DDS

Clinical Strategy

Dr. Atousa Safavi is an accomplished clinician and investor with expertise in cosmetic dentistry, sleep apnea, TMJ disorders, and integrative healing modalities. She earned her DDS from the University of North Carolina Adams School of Dentistry and holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Research from Campbell University.

Dr. Safavi serves as an Adjunct Clinical Professor at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine and is a General Partner at Safavi Holdings, where she invests in biotech, medical device, and platform companies.
